About This Tour
A full day of sights, stories and scenery.
Most visitors head straight for the mountains. We understand why. They're impressive.
But some of the best stories in Southwest Norway are found along quiet coastal roads, old fishing villages, dramatic fjords, and places most visitors never discover.
This full-day road trip takes you from Stavanger along the famous coastal Route 44, through landscapes shaped by the North Sea, centuries of fishing traditions, and some remarkably stubborn Norwegian farmers who decided that cliffs, rocks and rough weather were perfectly reasonable places to build homes.
Along the way you'll visit charming Sogndalstrand, the dramatic Jøssingfjord with its famous houses beneath a giant rock overhang, the peaceful village of Åna-Sira, and the coastal town of Flekkefjord. You'll enjoy lunch at a small family-owned farmstead more than 100 years old, tucked away in one of the most beautiful corners of the region.
This is not a tour designed to rush from viewpoint to viewpoint. It is a day spent exploring Norway with locals who genuinely enjoy sharing the places they love. Some places are famous. Some are not. Our favourite stop is one that very few people ever get to see.
