About This Tour
This private day trip follows Route 44 south from Stavanger through Jæren and the coastal communities beyond Egersund. The route includes Sverd i Fjell, Sogndalstrand, Jøssingfjord and Helleren, Åna-Sira and Flekkefjord.
The day is mainly a road trip with short walks and planned stops. You will see working coastal landscapes, old industrial sites, small communities and parts of Southwest Norway that are usually missed on a standard Stavanger itinerary.
At Jøssingfjord we stop by Helleren and talk about the houses under the rock shelter and the area’s industrial and wartime history. In Åna-Sira there is time for a local food stop, and in Flekkefjord we visit the Dutch Quarter before the return drive.
The order of stops may change with traffic, opening hours and the group. The aim is to keep the day flexible enough to spend time where it makes sense rather than rush through a fixed sequence.

Itinerary
Meet your guide in Stavanger or at the agreed pickup point before heading south along the coast.
Stop at Sverd i Fjell and hear the story of the Battle of Hafrsfjord and Norway's early unification.
Follow the Jæren coast along Route 44 through farmland, beaches and exposed coastal landscapes.
Walk through the historic wooden village of Sogndalstrand and learn about its trading and maritime history.
Continue into Jøssingfjord and visit the old houses beneath the large rock overhang at Helleren.
Stop in Åna-Sira for a traditional Norwegian snack and some time in the village, where the river meets the sea between steep surrounding hills.
Continue to Flekkefjord, walk through the historic centre and Dutch Quarter, and finish with the included pizza meal at Tollboden.
Travel back to Stavanger after a full day along the southwest coast.
