Flørli Cliffhike and 4444 Steps to the Mountaintop of Overlooking Lysefjorden
Lysefjorden is a fjord located near Stavanger, Rogaland in southwestern Norway. The fjord is 42kilometre (26 mi) long and lies in Sandnes municipality. The name means light fjord, and is said to be derived from the lightly coloured granite rocks along its sides.
Lysefjorden ends in Lysebotn, near the starting point of the hikes to Kjeragbolten. Lysefjorden also have road access to Sirdal, the closest ski area in the Stavanger region. There is 145km from Lysebotn to Stavanger by road.
Flørli is a tiny place without road-access serviced by four ferries per day. It lies deep into the spectacular Lysefjord, close to the Kjeragbolten. Flørli is popular for its 4444 steps right up the mountain – and this is the longest wooden stairway in the world.
Flørli is established because of the build up of hydropower, and the 4444 wooden stairs is built to support the building of pipeline.
In the summer, the «Power Café» is open.
Flørli is a quiet place and ideal place to relax, enjoy the nature and the fjords of Lysefjorden.
