About This Tour

If you're looking for a day that combines dramatic mountain scenery, local stories, winding roads, and one of Norway's most iconic hikes, this is it.

Join TrollAdventure on a journey from Stavanger to Kjerag, deep into the spectacular Lysefjord region. The drive itself is part of the adventure. We'll pass through green valleys, mountain plateaus, remote villages, and landscapes that seem to change around every corner. Along the way we'll stop at Byrkjedalstunet, one of our favorite local places, before continuing through Sirdal and across the high mountain roads toward Øygardstøl.

The hike to Kjerag is challenging but rewarding. Massive granite cliffs, mountain lakes, and views hundreds of meters above Lysefjord make every uphill section worthwhile. And yes, if conditions allow, you'll have the opportunity to stand on the famous Kjerag Boulder suspended between two rock faces 984 meters above the fjord.

John and Gerten started TrollAdventure because they genuinely enjoy sharing this part of Norway with visitors. Even when they're not guiding personally, every guide aims to make you feel like you're exploring with friends rather than following a flag through a crowd. The hike lasts a day. The stories and photos usually stick around much longer.
