Running to Pulpit Rock – An Evening on the Trail

Not every trip to Pulpit Rock needs to be walked at the usual hiking pace. On this evening, the route was used as a trail-running experience.

Moving faster changes the rhythm of the mountain. The guide still needs to read the terrain, weather and guest, but the stops are shorter and the focus shifts towards movement and flow.

The timing also meant reaching the upper part of the route later in the day, when the trail and light had a different character from a standard daytime hike.
