At Troll Adventure, we are not a traditional tour company. We are a group of passionate First Responders who spend our free time doing exactly what you came here for – exploring the wild, raw, and breathtaking nature of Norway.

We guide because we love it. Because we believe the best experiences are shared with people who genuinely care. From iconic hikes like Preikestolen and Kjerag to hidden trails and unique local moments, we make sure every trip feels personal, safe, and unforgettable.

Meet Gert & John, founders of Troll Adventure

Troll Adventure was founded in 2019 by Gert and John — just before the world suddenly shut down during COVID.
What started as a passion project between two friends quickly became something much bigger.

Both Gert and John work as firefighters in Norway, and through years of emergency service they learned the importance of responsibility, trust, calm decision-making and taking care of people in demanding situations. Those same values became the foundation of Troll Adventure.

But beyond the uniforms, they are simply two guys who genuinely love adventures, nature and meeting people from around the world.

They have spent years exploring Norway — from hidden fjords and mountain trails to remote villages and dramatic coastlines — but also traveling abroad to experience other cultures, people and ways of life. With Norway’s incredible nature right outside their doorstep, they wanted to create something authentic and personal for visitors coming here.

The journey started by guiding First Responders from around the world — police officers, firefighters, paramedics and military personnel who wanted more than just a standard tourist experience. Over time, Troll Adventure expanded to private travelers, small groups and international travel agencies looking for something more personal, flexible and genuine.

Today, Troll Adventure is built around one simple philosophy:

Whether it is a quiet fjord experience, a challenging mountain hike, a VIP adventure or a customized multi-day journey, Gert and John focus on creating real memories, strong personal connections and experiences that feel authentic — not mass produced.
