About the project

Some hikes become more than a hike. This trip to Preikestolen with Luke from Australia — a first responder and helicopter rescue crew member — became a meeting between colleagues, mountains, and shared respect.

First Responder Friendship on the Trail to Preikestolen

Some hikes become more than a hike. This trip to Preikestolen with Luke from Australia — a first responder and helicopter rescue crew member — became a meeting between colleagues, mountains, and shared respect.

Luke joined Gerten for the hike to Pulpit Rock, with good conversations all the way up. As first responders, there was an immediate connection: different countries, different systems, but the same mindset when it comes to safety, teamwork, and helping people when it matters most.

The day also included a visit to the local fire station, where Luke got a guided tour and met leaders from the fire service. For us, that made the experience even more meaningful.

Key moment

As guides and first responders ourselves, we are especially grateful when we get to guide colleagues from around the world. Luke brought great energy, experience, and stories from helicopter rescue work in Australia.

Guided by experience

Safe, personal guiding from people with real emergency service backgrounds.

More than a hike

A mountain experience combined with local culture and fire service connection.

First responder respect

Special thanks to Luke — and to first responders everywhere.
