About This Tour
Flørli 4444 is a very different kind of mountain day. The village has no road connection, so the journey starts by boat through Lysefjord before the hike begins.
From Flørli, 4,444 wooden steps climb beside the old hydropower pipeline from the fjord towards the mountain plateau. The staircase is steep and sustained, and the views open gradually as you gain height.
The return follows the mountain route rather than descending the staircase. That gives the day a better flow and avoids using the steep wooden steps as the main descent. Weather, ferry times and the condition of the group all matter when planning the day.

Itinerary
Meet your guide in Stavanger or at the agreed pickup point. We go through the plan for the day, expected conditions and practical details before departure.
We travel from Stavanger towards the ferry connection for Flørli, with the route depending on the day's ferry schedule.
Board the ferry and travel through Lysefjord to Flørli, a former hydropower village with no road connection.
Climb the 4,444 wooden steps alongside the old penstock, taking breaks as needed on the way up.
At the top, we take time to enjoy the views over Lysefjord and the surrounding mountains before continuing the round trip.
We descend by the mountain trail rather than walking back down the staircase, completing the loop back to Flørli.
After the hike, we take the ferry from Flørli and continue back to Stavanger.
