What you see:
- We take you to Lauvik ferry doc where we take the boat from Lauvik to Flørli.
- You find the tour with the ferry fantastic as we move into Lysefjorden, almost all to the end, ending up in Flørli
- In Flørli, we start the hike with, not more than, 4444 wooden steps in what is assumed a the world longest wooden stairs.
- The trail is uphill through beautiful scenery, with vegetation, forest and bare mountain.
- The hike is challenging for most people, but highly doable .
- All along the the climb up the stairs, you can turn around and look down to Lysefjorden.
Who is the trip for
This excursion is ideal for individuals in good physical condition who have previous experience with mountain hiking. The total distance of the trip is around 8 kilometers, with an estimated time of 2 to 3 hours each way. The elevation gain from the starting point to the peak is 330 meters.
NOTE: People with less good physical conditions can do the trip, but would require more time, so please notify us in advance if this should be the case.
What you need to take with you:
- Closed-toed shoes only. Terrain is rocky.
- Depending on weather and temperature, bring warm clothes, wind/waterproof jacket and extra clothes to leave in car if you need to change wet clothing coming back from hike.
